Another wheel day (and so on).

A customer brought in a front wheel built on that brand's rim—you know, the one we don't speak of.
The image above is already after the work was done.
I'd built it myself back then, but the internal parts of the Tni star hub gave up the ghost, so
we had to rebuild it with a different hub.

Went with a Black Hub 20H, black CX-RAY outpoke radial lacing, red aluminum nipples.
The original build also had red aluminum nipples, but I didn't reuse them.
The spokes came out about 1mm shorter on the rebuild, so
I cut them down and reused them.

This rim claims to be compatible with aluminum rim brake shoes, but
the braking zone is clearly worn in a stepped pattern—
it looks like it's been milled down.
Just to be clear about this:
the customer wasn't using aluminum rim brake shoes alongside this rim
(like letting metal shavings get stuck in the pads and then using them on a carbon rim or anything).
They're currently using carbon rim brake shoes, apparently.
