Flight Carbon Has Arrived

The other day, I ordered parts from a certain distributor

and in the shipment there was a saddle and some snacks that I hadn't ordered,
so I called to ask about it,

and they said the Homepai Mimi (a snack) isn't sold in the Kansai region so they sent it,
and the saddle was sent because they knew I like Flight saddles.
I'm grateful for both.

When I say Flight, I mean the Flight Carbon with carbon rails.

Compared to the regular Flight, the rails and base are even closer together,
and it often interferes with the seatpost clamp.

It was manufactured in June 1994, and aside from some compression in the padding,
it was in excellent condition.

On a separate note, a customer's bike that I'm currently working on for component replacement
also has a Flight saddle on it,

and this one is a derivative model called Flight Alps with the rear of the saddle cut off,
officially a specification intended for MTB use.

The proximity of rails to base is the same as the original Flight Titanium.
Naturally, that is.

Speaking of which, regarding the Colima Flight saddle (→here),
the inventory had been virtually untouched for at least two years,
but when I bought them out (at the time of the linked post's link),
they were restocked, so I bought them out again (at the time of the linked post),
and they've been restocked again (at the current time).
I've been tracking the inventory numbers, and the black ones went from about 12 units
down to 5 remaining now.
2001-made Flights aren't going to materialize infinitely out of nowhere,
so eventually it will run out, but this is probably the last time.
I could grab all 5 remaining units right now,
but I've already secured what I need, so I'll hold back.
If anyone wants one, there's still just barely enough time,
so I'd recommend ordering from a nearby shop that carries Colima.
Also, since the first time I bought them out,
there's been no inventory of the yellow Flight,
and it's finally disappeared from the order list.
The Japanese distributor must have confirmed with the head office that there's no stock.

The Dex Shell waterproof socks I mentioned the other day are also from the same distributor as Colima,
and when I was monitoring the inventory numbers after the Ultra Slim was restocked,
I thought "it's selling steadily, hehe..." but
somehow it's been restocked again in this short time.
As far as I know, this brand doesn't get restocked more than a few times a year, but...
Of course, this blog's promotional efforts don't have that kind of influence, so it must be a coincidence.
