I Rebuilt the PowerTap Wheel

Another day with wheels (and so on).
I rebuilt the PowerTap wheel, but
this time it was really tough going.

These are Sapim Laser spokes.
They're equivalent to DT's Revolution—a round butted spoke—but
whether it's due to these spokes or not, the tension was loose,
and they came to me already out of true.

The mag hub (and so on).

I clean everything from the freebody on down.
This is my usual routine.

This time the internals were pretty dirty.
Even so, the bearing rotation was smooth,
so a re-greasing took care of it.

And so I built it up.
The rim is either a Kinlin XR-200 or a Tni AL22
(I can't tell without the decal),
but since it's large flange, I was able to do a 48-spoke lacing.

But, well... how do I put this.
Something about the build didn't feel right, so I decided to rebuild it.
Before the rebuild, it had gold aluminum nipples,
but I'm using new gold aluminum nipples instead of reusing the old ones.
However, colored nipples have a lot of friction at the rim contact surface,
so they're somewhat harder to work with.
The fact that I'm reusing the rim is part of it too, but
this time I had a feeling that silver aluminum nipples would make for
a better wheel, so with the customer's approval, I decided to rebuild it.

So, another rebuild of the rebuild.
It was double work, but it couldn't be helped.
