Another day of wheel building (and so on).

A customer brought in the Nomu Lab Wheel #5 built with a PowerTap G3 hub.
When I tried to install the tire using Grunge's "Tire Install" tool—basically a spoke wrench-like tool for tire installation—

the tool slipped and deformed the rim's bead hook.
...So the rim needs to be replaced.

Rim swap in progress...

Done.
The rim in the back is the one before the swap.
Even though it's technically wheel building, since we're just swapping rims,
it doesn't meet the criteria for "Another day of wheel building (and so on)."
Who made up such a rule anyway. ← You did

Next up, a different job. A customer brought in the front wheel for the Nomu Lab Wheel #5.
The rim in the back is the one from before.

Woodman carbon body hub 24H CX-RAY with 4-cross lacing.

The rim got damaged in a crash, so it needs to be replaced.

Since it was built quite a while ago, it's using Sapim 14mm aluminum nipples.

When I loosened the nipples, white corrosion came pouring out from the spoke holes.

This is one of the reasons I don't use Sapim nipples.
It's not that this doesn't happen with DT nipples,
but the frequency is completely different.

Done.
I've replaced the aluminum nipples with DT 12mm ones.

Now we finally get to "Another day of wheel building (and so on)."
