Today it's wheels again (and so on).

Rebuilt the rear wheel from a brand with a ridiculous name.
Evolight hub 24H, black semi-competition, 46-spoke lacing with spoke tension measurement, and red aluminum nipples.
If I go into the details, some crazy person wouldagain lose their mind, so I'm not counting this one.
In another matter, today it's wheels again (and so on).

I received a front wheel built with Tni's ROAD38 carbon rim from a customer.
It's the same rim as Nomu Lab Wheel No. 2.

Evo hub 18H, all-race reverse radial lacing.
Based on the specs and assembly precision, it appears to have been built at Tni's distributor's antenna shop.
Though I hate to sound superior, one of the wheel builders at that shop has exceptionally high assembly precision.
Since this rim is from 2010, it was probably built in 2010 or 2011, but the wheel is perfectly centered and remarkably true considering its usage, which is quite impressive.
I understand that person no longer works there now.

The Evo hubs from this period have slotted spoke holes, and the customer requested that I rebuild the front wheel with aero spokes using CX spokes rather than CX-RAY spokes.
Since it's 18H, that might be the better choice anyway.
As for CX spokes, the distributor used to keep in stock lengths from 214mm to 278mm in 2mm increments (even number millimeters only), and only in silver.
The reason I'm using past tense is that all lengths have minimal inventory with no sign of replenishment.
There are some black spokes in stock too, but they seem to be leftover from past orders—just a few in lengths like 248mm, 264mm, and 286mm.
Given that slotted-hole hubs aren't commonly seen, I suppose there's not much to be done about it.
CX spokes are sold in units of 10, so I'd normally buy 20 to build an 18H wheel, but the length I needed for this front wheel only had 10 in stock.
So I bought 20 of the next size up (2mm longer) and cut them down by 2mm.

When I rotated the rim, it made a rustling sound, so I removed the spoke tape (not completely, but until the noise was mostly gone).

Built it up.

CX spokes, reverse radial lacing.
The choice to use CX spokes—considering the slotted holes and spoke weight distribution—wasn't my suggestion but the customer's preference.
They've got quite a refined sense for wheels. Heh heh.
