Another day at the wheel department (and so on).

I was asked to rebuild the ZIPP 303.

Currently it has a 7800 hub, but the rotation was getting rough so it needed rebuilding.

As it happens it's 18H, so is this an 18H-only privilege? I decided to rebuild it with a Tni carbon front hub.

Got it built.

For reasons I have in mind, I did a radial spoke pattern without spoke crossings.
I have a lot of wheel builds on order, but the shop is completely overflowing with bikes being rebuilt and assembled. Since opening, we've only sold two bikes, but the number of rebuilds and builds we do is beyond counting. Today I took in another frame. Unlike wheels, I rarely post "I built this kind of bike" here because bikes make it easy to identify the individual owner. I don't want to offend the bike shop that sold the frame or needlessly provoke them, and besides, it's not something we can hide even with careful consideration, so I try not to post them much. People often think we're just building wheels all the time, but lately we've actually been assembling bikes so much that wheel builds aren't progressing. I'm seriously considering declaring a "closed for work day" for external purposes so we can focus on getting through our backlog.
