Another wheel day (and so on).
Got asked to rebuild a ZIPP 303 wheel.
It's currently got a 7800 hub, but the rotation has gotten rough, so it's time for a rebuild.
Turns out it's 18-hole, so—is that a privilege of 18H only? I decided to rebuild it with a Tuni carbon front hub.
Built it up.
For reasons I had in mind, I went with inpoke throughout in a radial lacing pattern.
I've got plenty of wheel builds sitting here, but the shop is absolutely overflowing with bikes that are being rebuilt or assembled.
Since opening, we've only sold two bikes outright, but we've done rebuilds and builds too numerous to count.
Got another frame drop-off today.
Unlike wheels, I rarely post completed bikes here, and there's a simple reason: it's too easy to identify someone from their bike.
I don't want to upset or unnecessarily provoke the shop that sold them the frame, and honestly, there's no way to hide it well enough anyway, so I just keep from posting them.
People often think I'm just doing wheel builds all the time, but lately I've actually been swamped building entire bikes, and the wheel work is barely moving forward.
I'm seriously thinking about taking a "closed to the public for dedicated build work" kind of day.
