Another day of wheelbuilding (and so on).
I built up a PLANET X 20mm high carbon rim.

This is a customer's build.
This is also the third one from the "Seven Dyers" series (→here).
Since the wheel I built previously is working out okay for them,
they're going to use that for now,
so they've been gracious about the delivery timeline for the remaining rims.

The rim manufacturer is the same one used by a certain wheel maker,
but I can't really write about it.

Built it up.

This time I'm doing a 3-cross radial lacing.
When we actually mounted it on the customer's bike,
the clearance was incredibly tight,
so I asked them what they wanted to do, and they said "3-cross,"
so I built it up with 3-cross radial lacing.

↑Reposting an image with the customer's permission.
Talk about tight clearance! Even if the rim side flexes a bit during actual riding,
the hub should be fine, and there are reportedly no problems in actual use, but...
Still, building a 3-cross wheel with this hub is
definitely an ultimate choice for the lateral stiffness of a hand-built front wheel.
If the fork geometry permits, I can understand the temptation to try it out.
Blank space below.

I've obtained a decisive image!

WH-R38 means a 38mm high rim!
Similarly, R20 refers to a 20mm high rim,
which is the rim for this PLANET X!

The true identity of "R38" is...

Fast Forward's F4R!

Please also take a look at the image comparing it side-by-side with the F2R rim!

The rim cross-section shape is identical!
↑Stop! Don't write unnecessary stuff!
