I Replaced the Front Rim on My Single-Speed Bike

The other half of the rear wheel recently got a rim upgrade

Nut-axle large flange hub, 32H
Built with 14G plain spoking in JIS standard pattern.
When replacing the rim, I'd like to switch to Italian cross pattern, but
that would require flipping the spoking on one side of the hub flange or treating the rim as reversed,
so I'm going with the simpler approach of just moving the rim over—
in other words, keeping the JIS spoking pattern even after the rim replacement.

I forgot to snap this photo when doing the rear wheel,
but here's the stamping on the Ritchey spoke heads.

In the middle of migrating the rim...

Built up. The rim is an ALEXRIMS R450, same as the rear wheel.
I'm specifying ALEXRIMS because DT had a rim with the same name a while back,
but that one never came in silver,
and besides, there's usually no confusion anyway.

There were 2 spokes that needed replacing (coincidentally, I replaced 2 on the rear wheel too),
so I fixed them with DT Champion spokes.

The rim side wear is much worse than on the rear rim,
and the groove of the wear indicator is actually standing out
while being shut tight and sharp-edged.

↑It originally had this profile, but

got rounded and worn down, and

deformed like this, I believe.
A rare case where what was once a depression has become a raised edge instead.
The brake pads were also worn with a sharp groove down the center,
so I replaced those at the same time as the rim.
