Nomu Lab Diary

Built a front wheel with AL22W rim

A customer left me the rear wheel from their Nomu Lab Wheel No. 5.

The rim got crushed from the leverage of a tire lever when mounting the tire.
I'm not sure if it's the same model tire lever, but it's one of these types.

Since we need to replace the rim, we're going to rebuild it with an AL22W rim that has roughly the same inner diameter.
On the plus side we're upgrading to a wider rim and tubeless-ready, but I've explained to the customer that the rim weight will increase by about 50g.

All built. Both before and after the rebuild use green nipples, but I'm using fresh ones instead of reusing the old ones. Actually, I had no choice but to do that.
I deliberately didn't use an offset rim for the rear wheel.

From here on it's another day of wheel building (and so on...).
