About the Ass Savers (mudguard) that we sold here previously,

Due to the FLIP-TIP design unique to Ass Savers,
tension is applied so that the rear end of the mudguard
lifts upward and presses against the underside of the saddle.

Since it fits the constricted portion of the saddle rail,
even when mounting on a Selle SMP saddle,
which was unstable with the older model,
there's no rattling back and forth.

However, this new Ass Savers has poor compatibility
with the accessory bracket for CatEye lights (product number: 398-0060)
that mounts to the ICS (Integrated Clip System)
accessory bracket found on Fizik saddles.
This is beside the point, but when I hear ICS,
I'm reminded of the custom tuning manufacturer
that used to do gold plating and lightening work on Campagnolo parts
from around the C Record era,
and bending modifications on double-pivot levers.

I drilled a hole in the bracket so that the protrusion would clear
at just the right position for the saddle the customer is actually using.
If switching to a different Fizik model,
the left-right width would be fine, but we'd need to expand the front-to-back width,
but since for now it only needs to fit this particular saddle, there's no problem.

The image above is after modification.
I forgot to take the before photo, so

↑before
I took this shot with an unmodified unit of the same model.
Due to the bracket protrusion, the rear end height of the mudguard becomes lower,
and you can see it's not really doing its job.

Using a saddlebag at the same time is impossible, but the light works.
With the Rapid Mini, which is the TL-LD635 shown in the image above,
you can use it while keeping the mudguard angle nearly unchanged.

Next, when mounting on a Selle SMP saddle,
the "mounting" itself is stable,

and even when shaking it back and forth while holding the mudguard, it barely moves.

However, the SMP logo area and

the saddle rail in front of it at the U-shaped drooping section—two places—interfere,

so although the mounting is stable,
the mudguard angle drops considerably.
For Selle SMP, there's a dedicated product with the model name FAN-GO
that has holes to clear the two protrusions mentioned earlier,
so it's better to use that instead.
