Cable routing will be done later.

This hub is the latest current M8100 series XT,
but the M8000 series didn't have a 28H option.
The M8110 hub with 100×15mm through-axle and
the M8110-B hub with 110×15mm (BOOST standard) through-axle
come in 28, 32, and 36H configurations,
while the M8110-BS, which is both BOOST and straight-spoke spec,
comes in only 28H.

For cyclocross bikes in this transitional standard period
that came with 100×15mm front forks,
there weren't really any affordable front hubs available,
so I've used the XETR (XT Race) front hub several times in the past—
the only one offering 28H.
Most of those cases would have gone with XT hub instead
if a 28H option had existed
(depending on the year, XT front hubs retail for around 6,000 yen,
while XETR is around 15,000 yen—roughly three times the price difference).

Since almost no current cyclocross models use 100×15mm front forks anymore,
there will be few opportunities to use this hub for that purpose,
but it's worth remembering that "XT now offers 28H."
The same applies when you want to build both front and rear wheels in 28H for MTB like this time.
