A customer left a Bora WTO33 with me for service.
It's a rim brake model with WO rims.
Since the Ultra WTO only comes in disc brake spec,
if I look back years from now, this wheel might become
one of those great rim brake wheels where you think
"I should have bought it back then"—
like the Bora 35 tubular that was only out for one year as a narrow rim.
The front wheel was perfectly centered, with just the slightest wobble.
Next, the rear wheel.
Both wheels are brand new, and the rear wheel has a Campagnolo freebody.
There was such a significant center offset that I wouldn't believe it could pass Campagnolo's quality control.
Other manufacturers might not care about this level of misalignment,
but on a Campagnolo complete wheel, it's a major issue.
Since the rim is offset toward the anti-freewheel side,
I could easily center it by loosening the anti-freewheel side slightly,
But since this is a 2:1 lacing pattern (technically G3 lacing) with tight spokes on the anti-freewheel side,
I didn't want to loosen them, so I brought the wheel into center by favoring the freewheel side.
The radial trueness in the original state was virtually eliminated,
and there was actually more wobble during the centering process than in the finished product.
Oh, the reason I didn't show a full picture of the front wheel at the beginning of the article is
because an acquaintance bought another Bora WTO33
(the only difference being the rear wheel has a Shimano freebody)
from an overseas online shop, had it shipped to my shop,
and then made me cover the import duties.
So I decided to teach them a lesson by taking photos (the pictures above)
to mess with them by claiming "both wheels turned out to be front wheels when I inspected them,"
but I ended up forgetting to take a normal photo of just the front wheel by itself.
