Rebuilt the front wheel on the WH-R8170

More wheel work today (and so on).

↑This is from my previous post, but
I took that new front rim in the back and rebuilt it as a rear wheel instead.
I could've left the front wheel as-is, but
since I changed the rear wheel nipples from black to rainbow order,
I had to rebuild the front wheel too to match.

So that's how it got rebuilt.

Rainbow order (VAS pattern).

Previously, when I built a front wheel with a C36 rim,
I did a mixed-diameter build against the stock spokes with 71% weight ratio,
using 65% CX-RAY spokes on the right side.
This time I'm doing a left-right mixed-diameter build
with 78% CX Sprint spokes on the left side.
Compared to the original loose state with no cross-lacing on either side,
after the rebuild both sides are cross-laced.
I'll do the right-side lacing for the low-tension side later.

Speaking of which, the C50 tubeless-ready rim on the WH-R8170—
I don't think I ever revealed the actual measured weight here before.
When I built the rear wheel that pairs with this front wheel (the rim was my old front rim),
I forgot to weigh it, and
when I built the C50 rear wheel before that (also an old front rim),
I built it without removing the tubeless tape,
so I couldn't measure it.
So I only have data from the C50 old-front-rim that was the first one built
after the Revo Disc hub restock,
and from today's rebuilt front wheel.
This rim came in at about the same height-to-weight ratio
as Roval's CLX50 rim at 50mm/435g.
Plus, it doesn't force you into the XI pattern's 2:1 build
with those stupid hole placements (and only 21 holes on the front rim),
it lets you do equal-spoke-count builds on both sides,
so as far as the rim goes as a wheel material,
it's a superior option. You can use standard hubs too.
The rim's ultimate tension isn't lower on Shimano's side.
Actually, it's probably higher on Shimano's side.
Either way, I'm not running it anywhere near the limit though.
What? You want me to cite the measured weight source?
No way I'm giving that out for free, buddy.
↑man, what a jerk.
