Another day, more wheels (and so on).

A customer brought me a rear wheel from a Reynolds 32 (Thirty-Two).
They want me to essentially rebuild it as a Nomu Lab Wheel No. 6.
They originally wanted both wheels rebuilt
with silver spokes,
but since the front wheel is 20H all-black aerolite non-coupled spoke radial laced,
it was decided that just truing adjustment would be sufficient,
so I'll rebuild the rear wheel with black spokes to match the front.

Reynolds brand hub, 24H
all-black aerolite 4-cross laced.
It wasn't different-diameter left-and-right lacing.
With older vintage ones,
some have thickened freewheel-side spokes,
and some have a 46mm rim height despite being 32mm Reynolds,
with round butted spokes and left-and-right different-diameter lacing.
This customer is a second or later owner—they haven't ridden the wheel at all since acquiring it.
I suggested they try riding it briefly to see just how poorly a rear wheel laced with equal spoke count on both sides and radially on the non-freewheel side performs,
but they said it's impossible because the freebody is 10-speed.
Since they own Nomu Lab Wheel No. 5,
they can pretty much imagine what it would feel like with this rim replacing its outer section,
so I'm grateful for needing less explanation.

Built it.

Novatech 482 hub 24H—the original basis for the Evolite hub—
black semi-competition 4-cross laced with cross-lacing wires.
I consulted with the customer on whether to use this or the 660 hub for the build.

The original hub, a DT-Swiss star-ratchet version.

After taking a photo of the Reynolds hub graveyard,
I returned it to the customer.
The 32 rims typically weigh around 280g.
The Nomu Lab Wheel No. 6 rim—a standalone 32 rim without the Swirl Lip feature and not Reynolds-branded—
had early versions around 310g,
but later versions mysteriously
switched to a Swirl Lip rim,
which Reynolds shouldn't have been selling since they hold the patent.
I suspect when Reynolds discontinued the 32,
the OEM source LEW had cosmetic-free rims lying around,
so they released those batches,
which were around 280g.
This rim, however, is a particularly lucky one that's on the lighter end weight-wise.
I'm not going to tell you the measured weight though.
↑I think I said something like this in the previous post too

Sorry for the wait! I'm mostly recycling images from the previous post, but anyway—

Please look at this image!
↑Stop it, no!
