Rebuilt the WH-R8170-C36 (Part 2: Even Though It's the Front Wheel)

Another day with wheels (and so on).

Continuing from yesterday.
Rebuilding the front wheel on the R8170's C36.

The R9270's C36 tubeless has
spoke lengths that differ by 1.5mm between left and right,
but on the R8170's C36 tubeless,
both sides are the same length.

Even on the R8170, there's about a 1.5mm difference
in length between left and right, which is reasonable,
and since even the longer right side is still too long compared to spec,
the shorter left side is catastrophically long.

If I were to disassemble this front wheel
and rebuild it with the same materials,
I would recut the spoke lengths,
but since I'm switching to universal nipples when rebuilding,
I need to cut more than if I reused the nipples.

Rebuilt it.

Changed the right side (non-rotor boss side) to black CX-RAY straight spokes,
and whereas the original spec had no final cross lacing on either side,
now both sides are laced.
As I mentioned before, the nipples are
DT's 12mm black aluminum nipples.
I'll do the truing later.

As for the actual measured weight of the rim, of course I've weighed both front and rear wheels,
but I'm not telling.
↑wow this guy's got attitude
