Another day with wheels (and so on).

A customer brought in a front wheel laced with a 7600 Dura-Ace track hub and
Open Pro rims.

HB-7600 36H all-Champion #15
Built with 4-cross Italian lacing.
The customer wanted me to rebuild it with
all-Comp 8-cross Italian lacing instead.

Even from the original wheel state,
there were traces in the flange holes
indicating this wheel had been
rebuilt before.
There's a "PG" stamp, so
this hub was manufactured in
either 1991 or July 2017,
but with Dura-Ace track hubs,
both dates are plausible given how long
this product has been in production.
This one is probably the latter though.

The Schwalbe 14mm rim tape was shifted to one side,
leaving spots dangerously close to the rim holes,
so I replaced the rim tape.

Before

After
After disassembling the wheel,
I cleaned the hub.
The small scratches won't disappear,
but it came out pretty clean.
Since it's a 36H hub, it has the NJS stamp on it.

It's built.

HB-7600 36H all-Comp
8-cross Italian lacing.
Whether to solder the spokes or not was left to my judgment,
and I decided to skip it.
It's not because it's a hassle. I'm just saying,
it's not because it's a hassle.
