Eurahs Customer Bike

A customer brought in their Eurahs for service.

Both wheels were perfectly centered with only very slight runout.
The hub rotation was smooth despite having ball bearings,
spinning about as well as a new CULT hub would.
But given the customer's stated mileage and their original request
for a hub overhaul, I decided to disassemble both hubs anyway.

The front wheel showed clear wear grooves on one side of the ball race,
and the balls on that side were indeed damaged (left side in the photo above).
The undamaged side was also noticeably dull compared to fresh balls.
What's strange is that despite the balls being this worn,
there was no spalling, so the rotation had absolutely no grinding feel to it.
I suggested to the customer that we replace only the damaged ball bearings,
but they opted to replace both sides with new ones.
We didn't replace the ball races themselves.

The rear hub was fine aside from the grease running a bit thin.
At the customer's request, I adjusted the freewheel body sound to be slightly quieter.
