A customer dropped off a Ksyrium SL with me.

When the Ksyrium ES came out in 2006, the Ksyrium SL
was available only in silver finish, and the following year
they offered "just one black Ksyrium ES with red spokes"
and "silver Ksyrium SL," but
starting in 2008, the SL adopted specs nearly identical to the ES
and the ES was discontinued.
It's what Mavic often does—the "generalization of commemorative model specifications."
I think I wrote somewhere before that the rounded, drooping rim profile
of the Ksyrium 125 will eventually be adopted as standard
on non-125th-anniversary wheels,
and sure enough, the 2015 R-SYS SLR I saw recently already had that.
The customer said he wasn't the original owner of this wheel,
but both front and rear rims had centering issues, and the front wheel
was especially bad. It was offset so much you'd wonder if it could roll straight.
There were traces on the nipples suggesting someone had attempted
some basic truing work, probably on a whim.

↑It says Ksyrium SL Superlight.

↑This is my ES, and if you translate the English on it,
EDITION SPECIAL TENTH ANNIVERSARY HERIUM
(special finish commemorating 10 years since Helium debuted)
corresponds to French text on the rim.
Also, the abundance of red spokes is just my imagination.
