Nomu Lab Wheels - Complete List

Since there's no price list for Nomu Lab wheels, I've been getting feedback both in-shop and via comments saying it's really hard to figure things out, so I've put together this list.
I've also added a "Nomu Lab Wheels - Complete List" category, so from now on please jump to this article from there.
I plan to update this article to share information about Nomu Lab wheel pricing and specs going forward.

The "stock configuration" represents what I personally think is the best balance of price and performance. It's not absolute.
We can change parts like spokes and hubs as long as the length and hole count allow it, so please let us know if you'd like that.

All prices include tax.

Nomu Lab Wheel No. 1
Rim: Tni AL300 rim (measured average 462g)
Spokes: DT Competition
Hub: Tni Evolution
Nipples: Aluminum

Front measured weight: 667g (20H)
Rear measured weight: 858g (24H) / 836g (20H)

Front ¥12,000
Rear ¥17,000

Whether it's the rim height or the hardness of the rim itself, I'm not sure, but you can tension the spokes up quite firmly, and it's a rim that doesn't develop wobbles easily, so I'd recommend it for practice use.
At 462g, the rim is much lighter than the rim on budget complete wheels, so you don't feel much heaviness in the initial pedal stroke.

Nomu Lab Wheel No. 1 SL
Semi-custom orders asking for "No. 1's rim but with CX-RAY spokes" come in pretty often, so I'm setting prices for this option.
For the CX-RAY conversion, I change all the spokes on the front wheel, but for the rear I'd recommend keeping the freehub side as DT Competition.

Front measured weight: 633g (20H)
Rear measured weight: 816g (24H with freehub side DT Competition)
         787g (24H with all CX-RAY)

Front ¥17,000
Rear ¥22,000 (24H with freehub side DT Competition)
    ¥25,000 (24H with all CX-RAY)

My front wheel is the CX-RAY spec, so that's the one I usually ride with.

Nomu Lab Wheel No. 1 Modified
Golden 3·3·7 (Limited Edition)

Rim: Kinlin XR300 rim (same as Tni AL300)
Spokes: CN spokes 2.0mm plain, gold color
Hub: Gran Compe I-hub, limited color orange-gold
Nipples: Brass, gold color

Measured weight: 1118g (63H)
Price ¥19,000

3·3·7 means "3 times 3 times 7," which refers to it having 63 spokes.
Despite opening less than half a year ago, I built just one as the Nomu Lab first anniversary commemorative model.
I probably won't ever do this again.

Nomu Lab Wheel No. 2
Rim: Tni Carbon 38 rim (measured average 347g)
Spokes: Sapim CX-RAY (front)
    DT Competition (rear)
Hub: Tni Evolution
Nipples: Aluminum

Front measured weight: 523g (20H)
Rear measured weight: 759g (24H)

Front ¥43,000
Rear ¥43,000
The front uses CX-RAY for aero focus, and the rear uses DT Competition for stiffness focus.
Since the hub price difference and spoke price difference are about the same, the front and rear come out to the same price.

This is the lightest model in the Nomu Lab wheel lineup, and because the Carbon 38 rim from Tni is able to handle the highest spoke tension among Tni rims, I'd recommend it as a race wheel (though it's also strong enough for regular use).

Nomu Lab Wheel No. 2.5
There's also a Carbon 50 rim with a 50mm rim height.
Since the Carbon 50 rim is the same price as the Carbon 38 rim, you can build wheels for ¥43,000 each front and rear, but for some reason this rim has a lower maximum spoke tension spec, so I wouldn't recommend building a rear wheel with it.
※The image above is a custom order with different hub specs.

Nomu Lab Wheel No. 3
Rim: Tni Aero 80 rim (measured average 526g)
Spokes: Sapim CX (DT Champion on freehub side only is also recommended)
Hub: Tni Evolution
Nipples: Aluminum

Rear measured weight: 916g (20H)

Rear ¥49,000 (aero wheel support price)

The 20H rim I use in the rear is technically a front rim, but at this rim height, 24H would be overkill for most riders' stiffness needs, so the stock rear is built with 20H.

There's technically a front setup option, but I have concerns about crosswind performance.
If built, the price would be ¥47,000.
I especially want to recommend the rear, so normally at ¥56,000, I've worked hard to bring it down to ¥49,000.
There's normally supposed to be a ¥9,000 difference between front and rear, but because I want people to experience "swapping in just the 80mm rear wheel on a flat course day," I'm offering this support price.

DSC01378amx.jpg
That said, I have built a front wheel before.
This isn't something I should be writing too openly about, but I feel like this rim looks completely different without the sticker.
I just wrote about crosswind concerns, but honestly, I personally want the No. 3 front wheel (haha).

Nomu Lab Wheel No. 4
Rim: Kinlin TB-25 rim
Spokes: DT Competition
Hub: Tni Evolution
Nipples: Aluminum

Front measured weight:
Rear measured weight:

Front ¥13,000 (planned)
Rear ¥20,000 (planned)

I think there's latent demand for "practice tubular wheels," but it's crucial that they be reasonably priced.
This wheel is positioned as a tubular version of the No. 1.
The smallest hole count for TB-25 rims that I can source is 28H, so I was planning to build with that, but the rim has been out of stock for a while.
32H is probably available immediately, but since most people shouldn't have a problem with 28H, I'm going with 28H for the stock config.
Since I haven't built 28H before, detailed specs are still undecided.

※The image above is a 32H custom order.

Nomu Lab Wheel No. 5
Rim: Tni AL22 rim (measured average 376g)
Spokes: Sapim CX-RAY
Hub: Tni Evolution
Nipples: Aluminum

Front measured weight: 605g (32H)
Rear measured weight: 775g (32H)

Front ¥21,000
Rear ¥28,000

It's a very light rim for a clincher, but it only comes in 32H.
The rim is about 80g lighter than the No. 1's AL300, but when built with DT Competition spokes, the spokes add about 85g, so the "held weight" ends up about the same.
To make the rim's lightness in the outer sections stand out and differentiate it from No. 1, I've made it full CX-RAY spec.

DSC01746amx.jpg
Nomu Lab Wheel No. 33 (Limited Edition)
Rim: Mavic GL330 36H (measured average 352g)
Spokes: DT Competition
Hub: Ultegra 6700
Nipples: Aluminum

Front measured weight: 769g
Rear measured weight: 960g

Front and rear set ¥33,000

With 36 spokes, it's not a "light in hand" wheel, but it offers rim lightness that rivals the No. 2 Nomu Lab wheel plus the reassurance of 36H solidity—that's what I'd highlight as the selling points.
I could have built the spokes with CX-RAY, but considering price balance, I went with DT Competition.
I have rim inventory in stock, so you can also order it with custom hubs and spokes.

About spoke soldering
I don't always do it, but I do it fairly often.
With No. 1 wheels I usually do, and with No. 5 wheels I usually don't.
It dramatically reduces spoke deflection in the front-to-back direction, but the purpose isn't so much to secure rigidity as it is to correct left-right spoke tension imbalances.
If you let me know beforehand "please don't solder," I won't.
If it's the first time building a wheel, there's no additional fee for soldering
(but not soldering doesn't make it cheaper either).

About out-of-area shipping
I've done it several times before, but I hadn't written about it clearly, so I'll mention it here.
