Racing Zero Night

A customer brought in a Racing Zero Night (high-end racing wheel) for service.

It got hit by a Ferrari and the wheels are seriously out of true.
The front wheel has some potato chip (severe lateral bend) suspected damage, but it's right on the edge of what's fixable through truing.
Once I removed the lateral wobble, vertical runout appeared.
Of course, I'm working to minimize creating vertical runout while fixing lateral wobble,
so the fact that it still appeared means it was seriously out of true.
In terms of work time, it took even longer than the front wheel of the Nomu Lab Wheel #5 (custom wheel) I assembled today.
Plus, the hub bearings had some play in them.

The rear wheel had one major deflection, and directly underneath it a spoke was slightly bent, but
I told the customer "let me try without replacing it" and the moment I started turning the nipple,
it snapped with a loud CRACK! so we ended up having to replace it.
Rather than having it blow out somewhere on the road, I'd say it's fortunate it broke here where I could fix it right away.
Everything else checked out fine. The temporary spoke centering was off,
but that's expected since I deliberately positioned the centering gauge directly under the major deflection.

The front rim had gouges worn into it.
I tried various methods to fill them in, but couldn't get it looking perfect.
However, after the work was done I installed it on my own bike for a test ride
and when I checked the brake contact points, it was barely noticeable,
so I think it should be fine for normal use.
I did sand down the burrs before attempting to fill, and
I think that made more of a difference than the filling itself.
