My watch mentor gave me a bottle of Japanese sake in Hairyo-san packaging.
I can't write the details here, but it's in gratitude for passing along a certain domestic diver watch that cost ¥128,000 when it was first released around 1978-80.
It's beyond my ability to handle properly, or rather, I couldn't truly appreciate its value, so
I wanted someone who understands watches to have it instead.
Since I originally received it as a gift myself,
I figured passing along something I got for free, for free, meant no thanks were necessary—
or so I told him.
But it looks great in photos, so I accepted it graciously.
