Racing Zero Carbon

A customer dropped off the front wheel from a Racing Zero Carbon (high-end carbon wheel) with me.

It's a "new shaft catastrophic failure" case.

Things haven't deteriorated to a completely hopeless point,
so it should be fixable somehow.

That said, I did have to get rough with it.
To remove the bearing adjustment locknut,
I had the drill screaming as the left end flange was about to snap clean off.

I replaced the parts.

Fixed it.
Regarding the expression "new shaft catastrophic failure,"
I received some criticism from a distributor who's Japan's leading expert on Campagnolo,
so with an eye toward maintaining good relations going forward,
I plan to refrain from using this expression to provoke or hype things up (→here).

Oh oh oh
New shaft catastrophic failureee☆

To the parents at home,
I was simply showing you the ceremonial proceedings of a certain heretical cult
that worships the newly replaced shaft,
and there were absolutely no intentions of provocation or hype, just so you know.
