Cosmic Pro Carbon SL UST Customer Wheel

A customer brought in a Cosmic Carbon wheel for service.

They mentioned noticing inconsistency in spoke tension,
and requested truing work.

Even for a Mavic off-the-shelf wheel, the rim was shifted toward the non-drive side in a way that's quite rare.
Apparently a nearby shop (I can't name names per their request) had done truing work,
but given the current state of misalignment, they clearly worked without removing the tire
and didn't even use a centering gauge.
Since the non-drive side has lower tension and is easier to tighten,
they focused heavily on that side—tightening and tightening and tightening—
which only made the center offset worse.

And on top of that, the runout wasn't really corrected at all.
I have to wonder what basis they had for charging a service fee...
There's a small possibility the wheel went out of true again after their work,
but that doesn't seem to be the case here.

Once I finished truing while correcting the center offset,
the misalignment had reduced to about half of what's shown in those photos.
I didn't take pictures, but the customer saw the improvement.

I also did centering.

I didn't photograph it, but the front wheel had the same issue—
shifted in a way you'd never expect from an off-the-shelf wheel.
Unlike the rear wheel, though, it had almost no runout.
