I rejected them because there were defects in both the spokes and nipples.
They weren't from the same location, but I grouped them together at the time of the photo.

About the nipple — the grip edge cutting length is quite short. If it's a nipple that can be turned from the outside as well, something like this exists, but this was definitely a general-purpose 12mm nipple from a DT bag. I checked to see if the entire lot had this specification, and while there is slight variation between individual units, this was the only one this short.

With the CX-RAY, it's the occasional defect where the flat-butted section and the neck break direction don't align. If I use this, the spoke on one side of the final cross will end up twisted in terms of angle, but since I do spoke lacing, I reject this type of defect because it becomes a spoke break risk. Well, even if this were for a radial-laced front wheel, I'd reject it anyway. For those of you with truly robust builds (→see here).
