Another day of wheel building (and so on).
Built a front wheel with a Duke rim.
Continuing from yesterday.
Tune BOOST hub, 28H, semi-CX sprint
64-spoke reverse Italian lacing.
I'll do the spoke connections later.
This Lucky Jack SLS Ultra Carbon rim,
has the claimed weight printed on the rim itself.
For a rim under 300g with a weight variance of 30g top to bottom,
that seems a bit on the high side.
Since both front and rear wheels have the same spoke count and rim model,
sometimes I intentionally use the lighter one for the rear wheel.
But since the hub and rim were checked in at different times for the front and rear,
I built the wheels with the hub and rim combinations that came in the same bag.
Even though they were checked in at different times, the actual work happened simultaneously and consecutively,
so if I'd wanted to, I could have weighed the rims before building
and swapped front and rear if needed,
but I couldn't be bothered, so I didn't.
As it turned out, the rear rim was the heavier one, but whatever.
Also, one of the rims
ended up outside the claimed weight range on the heavy side.
But I'm not going to tell you the actual measured weight.
Why should I tell you anyway?
