Bora WTO60

I received an order from a customer for a Bora WTO60 wheel.

It's a rim brake model.
I'll do a full inspection of course, but
the customer wants me to swap out the USB bearings for CULT bearings.

Looking at the preliminary centering on the front wheel,

RIMG4298amx15.jpg
the rim was offset to the right like this.
The reason I determined it was the "right side" is partly because it's the side without the bearing play adjustment nut, but
the stronger evidence in this case is
that there's AC3 treatment on the brake zone.
Fortunately, the direction of the AC3 treatment, the left-right orientation of the hub ends,
and the USB sticker on the hub body all
were consistent on both wheels.

I removed the hub axle and took off the USB cone as well.

RIMG4301amx15.jpg
I pressed in the CULT cone and assembled the other parts.

Looking at the preliminary centering again,

RIMG4305amx15.jpg
the direction of the offset hasn't changed,
but the amount of offset has decreased.
Since there wasn't enough lateral runout to account for this difference,
this isn't just due to the phase of the lateral runout when looking at each preliminary centering.

RIMG4308amx15.jpg
I removed the minimal runout and got the centering dialed in.

Now for the rear wheel.
I checked the preliminary centering but didn't take a photo.
I disassembled the hub and removed the USB cone.

RIMG4311amx15.jpg
I pressed in the CULT cone.

RIMG4312amx15.jpg
Since it's now CULT, the sticker on the hub body is technically no longer accurate,
but I'll leave it up to the customer whether to peel it off or not.

RIMG4314amx15.jpg
After switching to CULT, I checked the preliminary centering again,
and the rear wheel's center offset barely changed.
It's offset toward the anti-freewheel side.

RIMG4317amx15.jpg
RIMG4316amx15.jpg
Like the front wheel, there's barely any runout,
and I could easily center it by loosening the anti-freewheel side slightly,
but I prefer not to center with a loosening trend,
so I centered it by tightening the freewheel side where there are more spokes.

I installed the tire, tube, and sprocket that the customer requested.

This rim isn't made by Corima, but
in keeping with the Campagnolo complete wheel tradition,
the rim holes are drilled with the reverse pattern.
For rim brake rear wheels or disc brake front and rear wheels
built in the G3 pattern, where both sides of the valve hole have freewheel-side spokes,
the concept of normal versus reverse hole drilling doesn't really apply.
