Inspector's Mark? When Did That Start?

The other day, a customer brought in a
Bora One 50 DB wheel with suspected puncture damage,
and sure enough there was actually a hole in it, but

the tube was a Bridgestone one.

And there's an inspector's mark near the valve stem.

This tube is made by Maxxis.
I was thinking, did Maxxis tubes ever have
an inspector's mark like this? But it also seems unlikely
that Bridgestone would be doing this on their own.
「検」Since the character is in traditional Chinese
「檢」,
it doesn't seem like they're doing additional inspections after the product arrives in Japan.

So anyway

I checked the Maxxis tubes in our shop stock.

The "made in Taiwan" typeface is identical.

Anyway, the Maxxis one also
has an inspector's mark on it.
