I Built a PowerTap Wheel

Even though it's spilling over into today, it was yesterday's work, so
today isn't another wheel build (and so on).

I received a PowerTap PRO 28-hole hub to build.
28 holes!?
Oh no, I mustn't let them sense the excitement swirling inside me

「Well, I'd been wanting data on true tangential lacing with
a large flange hub in 28 holes

would it be okay if I built it in a 4/cross pattern?」

「The spoke heads will overlap on the non-drive side, but it's very effective for correcting left-right tension differences. Hehehehe

I got the customer's approval, so I
built it in 4/cross pattern on the customer's request
wait, is that not what happened?
in 28 holes.

What's with all these strikethrough lines!?
My evil intentions are totally showing!!

Yeah, the spoke heads overlapped as expected.
The downside is that spoke replacement is harder,
but since these are wired hubs anyway, that's the same deal.

Wired it up, and the spoke tension difference is so small
that I thought 「maybe we didn't even need the wiring」.
got some nice numbers

Now, I know I wrote it as if there was some evil persuasion going on,
but I did explain the pros and cons to the customer.
