I received a comment asking me to explain this.
If I'm being my usual self,
what matters is the weight of the rim,
and the combined weight of front and rear wheels
if the rim weight isn't disclosed,
is almost meaningless information.
I can't even recall off the top of my head
the combined weight of Nomu Lab Wheel No. 5 (which is a problem in itself),
but I've held individual rims in my hand,
so I know the weight of every rim we use.
If there's a 1300g wheel and a 1250g wheel
with similar price points,
without even looking at spoke gauge or lacing pattern,
would you absolutely just buy the lighter one?
Well, with such limited knowledge and perspective,
that's the only kind of shopping experience you'd get,
or so I'd say (and I'm saying it now),
but this time I'll try to estimate it.
The rim and hub weights are from the wholesaler's published specs.
For nipples: 12mm length
aluminum nipples, 72 pieces at 28g,
so 24 pieces would be 9.333...g, let's call it 9g.
The 32mm tall rim I have actual stock of,
so I've already measured the rim inner diameter.
For the 45mm and 55mm tall rims,
I estimated the rim inner diameter
based on the height difference from the 32mm rim,
and the CX-RAY 6-spoke single-sided weight is
respectively 59, 56, and 48g for 32, 45, and 55mm heights,
while the CX Sprint 4-spoke single-sided weight is
respectively 67, 64, and 61g for 32, 45, and 55mm heights.
So the estimated weight for Nomu Lab Wheel No. 9 is:
32mm tall rim — front wheel 540g, rear wheel 653g, combined 1193g
45mm tall rim — front wheel 580g, rear wheel 693g, combined 1273g
55mm tall rim — front wheel 604g, rear wheel 717g, combined 1321g
As for other factors,
the lacing adds about 2g per wheel,
the rear hub freebody is Shimano HG 11-speed
(published weight only available for this spec),
and if it were SRAM XDR it would be slightly lighter,
also rim tape weight is not included in these figures.
