WH-R501-30

I received a WH-R501 wheel from a customer.

This was a wheel that came on the bike the customer rode in on.
Of the three centering gauges we have here at the shop,
the one that works with tires mounted has questionable accuracy,
so unless it's a tubular, I remove the tire and use
the centergage I trust the most.
The result was "virtually no runout front and rear, with just a tiny bit of centering offset on the rear wheel"—
though it was such a minute centering misalignment that
the basic centergage would probably have missed it anyway.

It wasn't really the kind of job that makes you feel like you accomplished something impressive,
but honestly, that's how pre-built wheels should be, and getting away with minimal work
is actually a good thing.
I just gave the hub a good wipe-down,
and that's about all the visible results there are to show for it (laughs).
