Cosmic Elite

A customer left me with "a complete wheelset with a Cosmic Elite sticker applied to a rim that was black anodized from a discontinued CXP30 WO rim and refined to 20H.

Even though the brake shoe and rim clearance was set pretty tight,
the shoes rub when the bike gets shaken around.

↑The aerospoke directions are all over the place,
but this is a phenomenon you often see with Mavic wheelsets like this.
The Cosmic Carbon has essentially the same rim inner diameter as the Open Pro,
just with a carbon fairing (a structural element that has almost no bearing on strength) placed over it,
so compared to the Cosmic Elite, the rim inner diameter is larger = the spokes are longer,
making the "spokes pointing every which way" wheel issue more likely to occur.

So with this wheelset, just like with the Bontrager from before,
I "tighten the freewheel side and then tighten the non-freewheel side to compensate for the rim shift,"
but since the center was already dialed in, I couldn't tension it up very much.
(Though it did get noticeably stiffer to the touch)

The rim width is slightly different, but the structure is the same.
You embed a special nipple holder into the rim,
and that's the same too.

The difference in rim inner diameter from the Open Pro is about 0.3mm in radius.

Gotta write this down or the thought police will come after me!
