Campagnolo Ultra-Torque BB Cup Reverted to Original Bronze Color

The Campagnolo Ultra-Torque BB cup color has

reverted from black to the bronze color of the original generation.
One difference is that it now has EPS compatibility marking.
To be blunt, this is a downgrade.
When it was black, it was definitely anodized (oxide coating).
Anodize color is created by corroding the surface to produce air pockets and mixing pigment into them.
Corrosion resistance varies depending on the pigment color, so red for example is a color that fades easily.
Black is quite a durable color.

But this bronze color has salt-like aluminum rust appearing on it
and the surface peels off like an eggshell, flaking away.
This wouldn't happen with anodizing.
So it's probably some type of plating instead.

If this color were truly anodized, that would be fine,
but looking at it, it's clearly the same color as the generation before last, so...
