Racing Zero Carbon

Another day with wheels (and so on).

I've received a Racing Zero Carbon wheel set from a customer.
They want an inspection, front rim rebuild, change in wheel magnet fixing method,
and a stylish makeover.

First, about the wheel magnet—it's probably the original cylindrical magnet type that fits into a hinge-shaped bracket, with just the magnet portion wrapped in tape.
The customer wants this secured with heat-shrink tubing, but

if I use tubing sized to fit the magnet and spoke combined diameter, the shrink ratio will inevitably leave gaps,

so I used a slightly smaller diameter tubing segment, shrunk it down to secure everything.

The inspection shows almost no issues, with just one red-colored spoke.

The front wheel has some centering issues, but

the rim is cracked and needs replacing anyway, so it doesn't matter.
I'm not sure if that's related, but the spoke tension is a bit loose, so I'll tighten it up a bit during the rebuild.

Built.

This is the rear wheel from this job, and I'm using the rule of marking one spoke as red on the anti-freewheel side, one hole back in the rotation direction from the valve hole.

DSC06869amx6.jpg
On the front wheel, using the same rule—one hole back in the rotation direction from the valve hole for the red spoke—the spoke would also end up on the left side like the rear wheel, but that's because Fulcrum's front rim has the valve holes drilled opposite.

Also, we were (probably the fastest in the world to) reveal the actual measured weight of the Racing Zero Carbon rim (→here), but that was the rear rim.
This time it's the front rim.
Measured weight? Why would I tell you that—jerk ← man, this guy's got a bad attitude
