WH-R9100-C60 (Just Kidding) – CL Rear Wheel Purchased (Part 2)

I rebuilt the rear wheel for the R9100 C60.

Apart from the satisfying feel when tensioning,
there was really nothing else to praise about this rim.
With the C24 rim, spoke tension causes the brake zone area
to wave back and forth, so you have to compromise on lateral runout,
but with this 50mm deep rim, deformation from tension doesn't reach
the outer edge, making it easier to build.

I used Sapim Leader 14 plain spokes on the freewheel side
and wove them in a final crossing pattern.
Incorporating different-diameter spoking into a wheel with different-number
spoking on each side is tricky, but comparing it to Zonda,
since the rear hub dimensions aren't high-low flange,
I judged that we could incorporate the same level of diameter difference.

When I say Zonda here, I mean the old C15 model.
The newer Zonda with the C17 wide rim
—whether to hide the increased rim weight or not—
matched the thinner spokes on the non-freewheel side,
resulting in the same diameter spokes on both sides.

It got a bit heavier.
The outer edge weight hasn't changed.
I don't think you'd feel "the rear wheel got 15g heavier!" in practice,
but when alternating between wheels before and after this rebuild,
I'm confident there's a perceptible difference that makes this one feel
stiffer to ride.

I also installed the tire.
