Built a front wheel with a rim from a brand with a shitty name

Another day, another wheel build (etc.).

A customer handed me a rim from a brand whose name you're not supposed to say...

Oops, wrong one—
this was a different job (different customer too),
a Chinese carbon tubular rim I've got on hand.

Sorry about that.

The rim packaging, model numbers, and label formats—apparently done by the manufacturer—happened to be identical, so I almost mixed them up. This one's a carbon tubeless-ready rim (no hump).

The customer ordered the rim with "no cosmetics," so there's no call for any touch-ups. The customer told me I can write whatever I want, but I mentioned they might feel awkward about the name thing. They said they didn't care at all.

Got it built.

Black hub, 20H, CX-RAY outpoke radial lacing. The manual that came with the rim had stuff in it that made me think, "This guy still doesn't understand anything about wheels," so I ignored those instructions and built it my way. I'll write about that when I do the rear wheel. Also, the rim's stated inner diameter was off by 1.5mm (in diameter) from my actual measurement.

About the title—I'm not just throwing around insults without basis. It's a pure fact that when people around the world hear this brand name, a lot of them feel exactly that way. For details, just Google "Czech word for shit." If you're curious about the pronunciation, click the speaker icon!
