Yamato Kanemitsu brought in a rear wheel with a broken spoke.

This is a separate issue, but the other day he
emailed me asking for the model name of the prototype wheel I've been lending him.
I thought to myself, "This guy's planning to put this in a blog or magazine,"
so I told him a name that's impossible to publish for certain reasons,
to keep it from becoming known to the world.
Just to be clear, it's not anything crude or inappropriate.
That prototype wheel—compared to the Roval or
DT wheels he has, it doesn't have as much drag and rolls better, or so he says.
I know that myself,
(honestly, it's harder to build a wheel that drags more than a Roval)
but I can't do mass production because materials are limited.
I told him to hand it off to Ume○chon when he gets bored with it, but it doesn't look like he plans to.

The spokes are bent, whether from the impact of breaking or not,

but the actual fracture is on the nipple side,
so if the spoke itself has no permanent deformation, it can be reused.

The new spoke needs the same
sliced king trumpet head modification.

The spoke isn't jammed in the nipple's threaded hole,
so it's not a spoke breakage.
The spoke appears to be slightly too short.

To replace the nipple, rim tape normally needs to be removed,
but if it's just a few nipples (one in this case) rather than a full replacement,

using the lacing method with a magnet to fish it out is faster and cheaper.

Sliced king trumpet head modification
(the right side in the image is newly made, but it picked up the cross-hatch pattern from the vise jaws)
