Racing 1

I received a rear wheel from Racing 1 from a customer.

It's a silver spoke model, but
these spokes, like the gold spokes on the first-generation Shamal Ultra or
the titanium gray spokes on the second-generation Shamal Ultra,
are "a proprietary specification not used on any other wheels."

The chain dropped inward from the sprocket,
and all 7 spokes on the outside in the porcupine direction have
damage and deformation, so the customer is requesting repairs.
The first and second spokes hit when the chain dropped
show obvious deformation, but
from the 8th impact onward it looped around and the chain
got wrapped up with a loud grinding sound for more than one full rotation.

I determined that all 7 spokes need to be replaced.

The spoke head has the marking "IIII (four vertical lines)."
Black and red are spare spokes I use regularly,
but silver spoke inventory... I had more than 7 in stock.

It's fixed.
Since I had to true it from the lateral runout,
even though it's called a spoke replacement, the actual work is closer to wheel building.
There were also many nipples on the verge of seizing
(but not a single spoke developed permanent twisting deformation!),
so the work time might be about the same as building a wheel
from brand-new materials.

I marked the spokes I removed with tape,
but in addition to the 7 spokes on the porcupine side
I also temporarily removed 2 spokes on the opposite side.

The 2 spokes on the inside had no chain bite marks,
but they were slightly deformed, so
I removed them, straightened them in the vise, and reused them.
This is something I rarely do,
but replacing them seemed excessive given the parts cost,
and leaving them as-is wasn't quite right either.
