A customer brought in a Reynolds Assault for service.

I received both front and rear wheels, but it only needed a minor truing.
This Assault, unlike the current model, is not tubeless-ready.

So the rim has no hump,
and because there's no hump, a stretch-band style rim tape is installed.
When there is a hump, you need to use a tape-style (tubeless-ready) rim tape
and press it into place along the rim shape using air pressure.

↑This is a tubeless-ready Assault, and it does have a hump.

When I searched "hump rim," one of my own diagrams came up.
For more on humps, see (here).

Regarding this Assault, there's been an advisory from IRC
requesting that users refrain from using their tubeless tires
for the time being.
The bead hook edge is sharp and doesn't meet ETRTO (European Tire and Rim Technical Organization) specifications,
so when a tubeless tire pops up into place,
the bead hook can cut the tire sidewall and cause it to burst.

↑This is what happens.
Cases of tire sidewalls being cut during the bead seating process have been reported.
