Today it's wheels again (and so on).
I've taken on a wheel rebuild job for an ENVE 1-45 rim.
The hubs were originally American Classic front and rear,
but the customer wants the hubs swapped to Tni,
the spokes changed from black CX-RAY to silver CX-RAY on the front wheel and silver half-comp on the rear,
the lacing pattern changed from outpoke radial to inpoke radial,
and the crossing pattern changed from 4/0 to 4/6 with reverse-side lacing on the freewheel side.
Here we go!
The customer asked me to stretch a Continental Competition 19 tire
on a Y-doubles stretcher beforehand,
so I'm stretching it now.
The Competition 22 can be mounted straight out of the box
(though the inner diameter is on the small side),
but the 19 won't work. The inner diameter is just too tight.
About the band that connects the rims—I've tried all sorts of things like thick rubber sheets,
but I've concluded that genuine leather is the best solution.
This is my newly expanded setup for stretching two at once, and I've gone with brown.
